Into the Unknown…

I said to the man that stood at the gate of the year, “Give me a light that I may tread safely into the unknown.” He replied, “Go out into the darkness and put your hand into the hand of God. That shall be better than light and safer than a known way.” King George VI

Our Headquarters in Plancenoit Belgium! -- Greetings to you from Europe! First off – some news: On October 7, we received word that the rental property where we live and have our CAE headquarters has been sold. It is precisely as King George VI wrote: holding on to His hand is “better than light and safer than a known way.” If people have heard it from me once they have heard it a thousand times: “When it comes to knowing what God has ahead, each of us is on a need to know basis. When we really need to know something, He will let us know . . . other wise simply stay true to the track."

CMI HouseAbout our track called ‘The Arts House:’ For the last twelve years, Anne and I have continued faithfully with this strategy. At the Arts House, thousands of hours have been spent: counseling and encouraging young interns and artists, mentoring young leaders and missionaries, and praying through and identifying new strategies with key European leaders to effect a spiritual awakening across Europe.

The Arts House is like an Embassy

It is a consulate committed to His purpose for this generation. Since we launched the Arts House in 1995, we have had to relocate three times: in 2001, again in 2004, and now in 2009. If the truth be told, Anne and I would like to finally own a place that provided more permanence, however, that is in God’s hands! As we have prayed, we have sensed: stay true to the track! Jim Mills

Please pray and push with us as we hold onto His hand and walk into 2009!

Read on and enjoy our 2008 mosaic…

Across Europe and Beyond…

Each year our team travels across Europe and beyond working with pastors, churches, and other groups of believers for spiritual awakening across Europe! Below are some of our events & strategies.

FINLAND - Life 08!
Institute of Faith, Arts, and Adventure
Finland - Life 08 This is a place where faith, art, and LIFE merge! CMI collaborates with the Finnish Lutheran Mission to sponsor this summer institute that draws teenagers from all over Finland to explore their God-given talents and their faith. What an awesome opportunity for the “next generation” to meet Him: The Lord of all of life. One evening after a inspirational concert and a stirring message, we prayed with many to accept Christ! The Lord reached deeply into the lives of these teens – all of them with the potential to shape the future of their nation, even possibly their world!
GERMANY - Feb 08
Creative Arts Seminar, Nuremberg
Nuremberg Creative Christians joined us for this rich time of biblical teaching and creative workshops. Friends from former arts camps attended bringing a warm sense of community. An invitation to present a creative Sunday service in a historic cathedral in the old city was the finale of this weekend. This service was a celebration of a creative God combining music, fine arts, dance, and poetry! “Christians are the ones whose imagination should fly beyond the sky!” Francis Schaeffer
AUSTIN, TX - April 08
Transforming Culture of Hope Arts, Hill Country Institute
Transforming Culture of Hope Arts The Transforming Culture event aspired to put forth “a vision of a relationship between the church and the arts that is theologically informed, biblically grounded, liturgically sensitive, artistically alive, and missionally shrewd.” The symposium imparted empowering insights into: 1) The arts and the corporate worship of the church, 2) The pastoral care of artists, and 3) The artist’s role in the renewal of culture. Finally, it was an overwhelming privilege to participate in what will surely be remembered in generations to come as one of the significant events of the current renaissance of the arts in the evangelical church!

Thank you for investing in this mission!

Anne and GraceMy mother, Grace Gibson peacefully entered her heavenly home on December 15th. As her body grew weaker, her spirit was continually strong. Her “NEVER QUIT” attitute amazed us all. She was a friend to everyone. She did all things well. She was and will continue to be that gentle combination of kindness and courage, “my hero,” amazing Grace! We are so grateful for God's faithfulness. Thank you for your prayer support during this time… Anne

Anne and I want to thank you for your faithful support in prayer and finances. During this difficult time we must stay faithful to the call of God on our lives Let's stand together in 2009. Blessings from Europe! Jim & Anne
